Club Minutes – December 2025

President’s Report: Michael Callaghan

Thanks for backing up today after yesterday’s Christmas party.

Last month’s financials, we have found a slight discrepancy in the figures. Last months minutes will be amended and re-sent out.

Liability insurance has been sorted since last meeting. The policy cost is $1053.82pa and has been paid as of the 13^th of November. If anyone requires to view the certificate of currency please see Michael. The barrister has also been paid which came to the cost of only $1100.00. Talisha Fishburn put in a lot of effort and a lot of communication back and forth. A big thank you to Joe Fishburn for referring his sister to do this for the club.

For anyone that didn’t go to the lunch yesterday, it was great. Food was terrific, the venue was great and when they drew the curtains the room was really bright. The booze was cheap too. Colin Sims came up with the idea. He made the booking and did most of the work organising. Michael chose the food and paid the bill. However since Colin isn’t here I will take the credit except for anything you didn’t like. Cost of the event was $2115 and $470 dollars paid in deposits. 

Those of you who can remember back in October, I put up a post when I went away for a ride with my daughter and I said we need to do this as a club ride and a whole bunch of us said yes great idea. I am proposing that we do this ride in February. Ride will be 3 days starting Friday. Proposed dates will be 20^th to 22^nd February. Proposed route will be Day 1, (494klm) Moss Vale down the freeway to Gundagai via Gunning, Tumut, Tumbarumba and if time permits a side trip up to Cabramurra taking some nice roads to Corryong where we will stay the night at the hotel. If we opt out of Cabramurra trip will be 50klm less. Day 2, (420-490klm) Corryong which is at the base of the Snowy Mountains up the Alpine way to Khancoban, Jindabyne, Bombala, Imalay Road, Eden then up the coast to Cobargo Pub. Day 3, (330klm) Cobargo to Batemans Bay, up the Kings Hwy to Braidwood for a Donut then home via the GP Memorial.

A Shorter ride to be planned in April. Possibly to Rhylstone or Bathurst. More to come in the New Year.

January monthly meeting is cancelled and a possible social get together for the 12^th.

Ride code of conduct recommendations made by the barrister have been reviewed. The below is list of items to follow when going on organised rides with the club.

Club members are reminded that they must:

1. Have a fully registered or club plated and roadworthy motorcycle.

2. Follow all road rules including those involving blood alcohol limits, speeding and safe passing.

The club strongly recommends: An ATGATT approach to riding

  : On Club Rides selecting a lead and following riders

  : Having a pre-ride brief on likely road conditions and possible hazards.

Vintage Japanese Motorcycle club is holding a national rally happening end of February in the Snowy’s. Location at Jindabyne. Runs for 3 days. Accommodation is at the Station resort. 

John Diaz is planning to attend. See John if you want to join him.
