Schmokin Berrima has been sold and will be closed for renovation. Our new meeting place for Bikes & Coffee (Till we know more) will now be held at Werai Farm Club. 1 Werai Road Werai. First meet at this venue will be this Saturday 14th June.

Safety Vests for the classic bike rides are still with Tony. Mick Lendrum has received one vest from Kevin. The saga continues!

Rescue account as per last meeting it was agreed to run down rescue account to $1000 and top up as we go. Tonight, we need to discuss closing one account so there are only 2 operational accounts. We wish to do this to obtain interest on the club funds in these two accounts. We initially wanted to change the working account to a different account that provides interest but after speaking with the bank this outcome was going to be quite difficult. Currently there is the rescue account which receives interest @ around $2 per month. The working account which is the main account with the majority of funds and earns no interest. Third account is for the debit card which is used for club events and sundry purchases. This account also receives no interest. All accounts have no account keeping fees.

Proposal that we transfer all the main working account funds into the rescue account. Then the name of the rescue account be changed to the working account. Close the working account. This will provide interest of approximately $5 per month.

Vote of acceptance of changes: Unanimous 25 hands. Votes to not go with changes: 1

Rescue budget will now be maintained by spreadsheet.

Treasurer’s Report:

Since last meeting we have had $670 in income through membership renewals and the first aid course. We have spent $346.95. The membership system hosting, the square card reader, some office supplies, and a membership refund were part of the outgoings.

No expenditure from the rescue account but we did get $2.19 in interest.

I have worked out that it will cost approximately $1000.00 PA to run the admin side.

Overall, we are in a better position compared to last year.

Working account: $4980.42

Spending account: $381.50

Rescue account: $2206.94

Total cash on hand: $7568.86

Income:

Membership and first aid course $670.00

Expenditure:

Membership system subscription $346.95

The club bank accounts are in profit at $402.53 for this financial year

The rescue account has only had four rescue claims since May 2023 with a total outlay of $964.00.

Secretary’s report:

Thank you for the kind words regarding my first minutes. Greatly appreciated for the positive response. Trying to make the minutes a little more official and improved layout. Can I ask for attendees to print their names on the attendance sheet. I struggled with the hand writing last month. Otherwise, all was good.

Webmaster report:

The online membership application form is sorted. Visitor numbers to the web page are steady.

Richard offered cheat sheets, one for Apple and one for Android users to set up a quick link on your phone or tablet that will take you directly to the clubs web page. Saves you from typing the web address in every time you need to go to the web site. If you missed out on a form on the night please email the club email page and Richard will send you the instructions

Membership Secretary Report

Michael Callaghan in absence of Rob Hanna: Membership stands at 150 paid up members. We have one new application from Ben Quilty. Another application for Dominic Casey was retrieved from the PO box . Both applicants have been proposed by Trev.

Ride Reports:

Boorowa ride: Michael Callaghan, Great weather but a little cool Sunday. A spirited ride Saturday out to Wyangala Dam, then onto Woodstock which is just a little town that has got nothing much apart from a pub. Had lunch at the pub. I was given the lead but after a period realised I made a wrong turn. Turned around and caught up with the others and made it to Boorowa. Local rugby club was doing their annual presentation and thought here we go. Turned out the rugby boys were very pleasant and polite. We were hard core riders going to bed at 830pm. Next day the town had a power blackout. No hot breakfast and the showers were freezing. Jumped on our bikes and rode to Crookwell. The plan was to go to Taralga then down through Swallow Tail because a bunch or riders had adventure bikes. I got to Crookwell where I was cold, tired and a little hungover and I had not had a coffee so I took the short way home down the highway. Overall a great weekend.

Dirt bike ride: Andy Buckley, Did Swallow Tail, Taralga, Black Springs which was pretty cold. Then some more dirt roads to Bathurst. Stayed at Mount Panorama Hotel. Ride covered about 50% dirt. Next day we found more dirt roads to Black Springs then a gnarly fire trail down to Wombeyan caves road home avoiding the rocks from the closed section of the road.

Coffee ride: Paul Roodenrys, Rode to The Midge Café at Tallong. It was a pleasant ride along the Highlands Way. Had a cup of coffee and a slice of something nice and discussed important matters for a while then rode home. There were about 6 riders mostly BMW owners and one Harley.

Richard Robertson & Phatt Duck went for a mid-week ride down South to Canberra via Batemans Bay. Glorious days, no ice or water on the roads. Fabulous ride to Batemans Bay with Fish & Chips on the water. Up the King’s Highway with virtually no traffic. Stayed in Canberra Novotel with mid-week prices like a country motel. Back home Friday. 500 kilometre round trip. Could do it as a one day ride in warmer weather.
