Presidents Report:

Christmas in July in April is coming, Sunday 19th April, 8:30 am for 9am departure from Bradman Oval in Bowral for a ride around the beautiful Southern Highlands,  then a pie and a drink on the club at Werai Country Club. Should be a nice morning out.

Next big event is a two day ride to Rylstone Friday May 1 Saturday May 2. The ride up will start at 9am at the Shell service station on the freeway at Sutton Forest for a ride through Crookwell, Bathurst, Sofala to Rylstone. The return trip will be via Capertee Valley, Oberon, Taralga and home, about 350km both days.  So far I know of three others who have booked rooms at the Globe Hotel in Rylstone but I think there’s been more so get your booking in to avoid disappointment, the details were in last Saturday’s email.

Membership renewals came out via email on the first of March, if you don’t see the renewal make sure you chase it up with us, remember if you’re not paid up by the AGM in April you’re no longer a financial member and any historic registrations you hold will be void.

And finally, and most importantly the AGM will be on Monday 13 April. So please consider standing for one of our committee positions. This could be your chance to give back to the club or to fix the things you’re not happy about. Our secretary is moving overseas so won’t be standing, and neither will the treasurer. Neither job is particularly onerous, both entail sitting at the big table at meetings and giving a short report, additionally we have a monthly committee meeting where we sort out day to day running of the club and spitball ideas for events before putting it to you all at general meetings. The secretary keeps minutes and writes them up, the treasurer keeps a track of our finances. Neither job should take more than an hour a month outside of meetings. Additionally, we’ll need a Safety officer on the committee, and I also invite nominations for President and Vice President. Rob Hanna has indicated he’s happy to stay on as Membership secretary, which is just as well as the rest of us are a bit clueless when it comes to what he does.
