Lady & Gentlemen, welcome to this month’s meeting. Our illustrious elected majesty is holidaying in the Cook Islands and most likely sipping cocktails & not giving us a second thought. Additional to this the sub majesty is in Lightening ridge on his way to Queensland.
Other business:
Safety Vests for the classic bike rides, majority are still with Tony. Mick Lendrum has taken the vests that have the club logo (About 7). The remaining 19 vests are still with Tony. If you would like a vest for your bike (In case of a situation while riding) please see Tony and he will be happy to provide you with one.
Classic bike register, Committee discussed about setting up a register of bikes registered on club plates. Currently Pete & Trevor have a list. Feedback from members on the night not really needed. Motion to rest.
Rod Barret Memorial Ride has been planned to occur on the 14th September. This date falls between the normal coffee ride & lunch ride. Paul Riley mentioned the Blue ribbon ride of the police Wall to Wall ride may be on the same weekend. It was agreed that wont be an issue. Committee to review dates. The plan on the day is start at Werai Farm Club 930am. Free coffee and depart 1030am. Leisurely ride to Avon Dam for a Sausage sizzle. Depending on weather conditions. Mal Campbell to man the BBQ. All in agreeance.
Schmokin sale has apparently fallen through. Back on the market. Word is the site will not operate in a fashon that would be welcoming to scallywag motorcyclist.
John Diaz would like to do a 3 to 4 day ride up North later in the year. Suggestions welcome.
Chinese restaurants. It was mentioned the Picton Chinese restaurant is very authentic. Committee would like to hear everyone’s experience with Chinese restaurants when visiting rural towns. This relates to the decor and the food experience.More to come.
Rob Hannah is going to set up routes and destinations for the clubs regular planned rides. This will help out riders who want to meet at the destination or along the way or running late & couldn’t get to the meeting point.
Paul Riley has suggested training day @ Eastern Creek. Braking and cornering techniques. To be discussed between committee members.
Treasurer’s Report:
The committee has had further discussions regarding the changes to the bank accounts. Decision has been made to retain accounts but place funds in the accounts that provide interest. The reasoning behind this is members may automatically use the existing account information with their EFT & unwittingly deposit membership dues into the old account (Membership renewals etc.).
Since last meeting it has been a quiet month. We have had $390.14 in outgoings to cover catering for the first aid course which was well received. There is still 4 attendees that still need to pay their $45 contribution. Please see myself or Rob Hanna at the end of the meeting to settle. $7425.44 cash on hand, we are maintaining a $1000.00 balance for the rescue fund.
Old working account:$0.00
New working/ rescue account:$7034.08
Spending account: $391.36
Total cash on hand:$7425.44
Secretary’s report:
Nothing to report this month.
Webmaster report:
Web visits steady. Not much has happened due to house move. Last committee meeting there was discussion regarding adding a new section to add club registration explanation on how to register your bike. It’s already on the web site, sort of tucked away in the about section. The idea is to make it easier to access and helps explain the process.
