President's Report – February 2026

As mentioned previously I’m having a ride to the snowies Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd, first night Corryong, second night at Cobargo, if you’re going departure is 8 for 8:30 at Shell garage Sally’s Corner (Sutton Forest).

Christmas in July in April Sunday 19th April, ride then morning tea, more details to come but save the date now. We’re also considering a Christmas in July in July and a Christmas in July in December, but that’s probably just silly.

For everyone who put their hand up for the snowies ride but can’t make it we’ll be having a two day ride to Rylstone Friday May 1 Saturday May 2. So far around 160 members have indicated that they want to come, but I expect actual numbers to be a lot more modest. Anyway, save the days, more details to come.

Proposed rider training day in June, expressions of interest at the meeting indicated it should be a viable thing, rough plans would be for Paul Riley to do some training for us at Picton carting track on a weekday, we’ll look into it and more details will be forthcoming.

Carrying on from our solicitor’s advice any incidents on rides or other events should be reported to our safety officer to keep a record of what happened and what we should do to prevent the same thing happening again. The current safety officer is Paul Roodenrys , you can catch him at meetings or if you drop an email to the president’s email I can pass it to him: president@highlandsclassicmcc.com.au

Membership renewals will be coming out from the first of March, if you don’t see the renewal make sure you chase it up with us, remember if you’re not paid up by the AGM in April you’re no longer a financial member and any historic registrations you hold will be void. While I’m on the topic if your personal details such as phone numbers have changed drop us line so we can update them

And finally we got the sad news that Secretary Rob McKenna is moving overseas at the end of April, he’s moving to Northern Ireland because Robertson isn’t cold and wet enough for him. While I’m sad to see him go the club and I wish him well and he’s always welcome back if he comes to his senses and returns to Australia.

Upcoming rides:
