Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting on a cold Monday night.
Our first aid course is booked for Sunday 15th June starting at 10am. Please be punctual, the club doesn’t officially open till 11:00am so they have to open the doors for us to come in and I’m told the lady doing it doesn’t want to have to be getting up and down all the time. Lunch will be preordered, I sent through an email yesterday, please have a think beforehand what you want so I can get it to the kitchen without holding up the start of the course.
A motion was put to the club to roll the club’s main account and the rescue account into one. This means that there isn’t a sacrosanct sum set aside for resues but we will keep enough in the working account to cover over a year’s worth of recoveries at the current rate. The motion was passed 25 for to one against. The one against was me because I’m frightened of change and worried I’ll blow the lot on booze and pole dancers.
Schmokin’ has been sold and is closed for renovations for at least a couple of months. Mal Campbell had a word to the staff at Werai Farm Club (the former Werai Tea House and pie shop) and they are more than happy to see us, Bikes and Coffee and other functions will be held there for the time being at least.
As for the vests, Mick Lendrum has acquired one from Revvin Kevin, the rest still reside with Tony Moses. It is rumoured that Tony is selling them on the black market to pay for a new knee, but that is likely just a story and their real fate will be revealed in the fullness of time. Mick Lendrum seemed a little uneasy at the prospect of several thousand vests being deposited on him at once. Stay tuned for more of this saga.
