President's Report – September 2025

Thanks to everyone who attended Monday’s meeting, with a special thanks to my safety conscious colleagues who were sporting the much talked about HiViz vests. The veritable sea of orange to rival a Laverda club meeting or Dutch national soccer match brought a warm glow to my heart, and made me proud that all the efforts to secure the club’s HiViz future were not in vain.

This Sunday 14 September marks the Annual Memorial ride, it kicks off at Werai Farm Club at 9:30 for a 10:30 departure to ride to Nepean Dam, to get there around 11:30. The club will shout you a FREE coffee at the start and a FREE sausage sizzle and drinks at the finish. Even if you can’t ride (and we have a few of those at the moment) you are encouraged to come to come along to either or both stops to say hello.

There was discussion about the  Christmas party with the venue put to a vote and the assembled members gave the nod to Moss Vale Services club over Bundanoon Chinese by a ratio of about two to one. It is to be held on December 7, starting around 12:30. Because the club will have to pre pay we’ll need a $10 deposit from those wanting to attend to discourage people saying they’ll attend and then not turn up. But fear not, we’ll put that deposit over the bar so you will still get a FREE lunch.

First Sunday of November (the 2nd) we’ll have a charity ride in the format of a poker run with (hopefully) some fun prizes, and a coffee and sausage sizzle as part of the festivities. We’ll look at a $20 donation per rider all of which will go to charity, with the club bringing up the total to the usual $1000 we donate.

There was some discussion about August’s rides, Dave Hendo came a cropper on the last lunch ride, he’s pretty banged up but is home and expected to be OK. John Ogden gave us a rundown on his South Coast ride of Doom that was a great time, oh, except for Andrew getting airlifted to Canberra from Bega after having a heart attack. And Clem’s bike being backed over in a carpark. And Oggy coming off his bike and breaking his collarbone. But apart from that lot the ride was a great success.

Upcoming rides:-Memorial ride this Sunday as above-Lunch Ride Sunday 21th September to Gunning for lunch at the ever popular Telegraph Hotel-Thursday rides this Thursday 11 September and Thursday 25 September   9:00 for 9:30 at Bradman Oval-Bikes and coffee Werai Teahouse this Saturday 13th-Shit ride Wed 24 September-Cars and Coffee last Sunday of month 31 August-Coffee Ride Sunday 5 October to Kangaroo Valley

Hope to see you all on Sunday

Till then ride wellMichael Callaghan
